![]() ![]() From what we see in DokeV’s trailer, there seems to be a balance between technology and mysticism with everyday objects gaining new functions under the auspices of friendly Dokebi. ![]() Overall, the game reminds me a lot of Yokai Watch and Korean animation Robochan Cubix, which also had a technological utopia theme behind it. If that’s the case, I’m opting to main toy hammer at launch and whatever dokebi makes it squeak louder. What will be interesting to see is how DokeV breaks up combat styles/approaches and whether players will be locked into a particular “class” or be given weapon trees once they unlock different weapons/dokebi. Thankfully, DokeV’s combat may be simplified to a handful of combos that way newer players aren’t exposed to 16-input deep combos that we see with some classes in BDO. Fans of Black Desert online’s flashy yet deep combat system will see a lot of similarities between DokeV and Black Desert, especially with how twitchy and movement-oriented BDO can be. “For the combat scenes, we tried to embody Pearl Abyss’ style of action while simultaneously putting in a lot of effort to make it into a style that could be enjoyed by a larger audience,” says Changkee Nam. Characters fight enemy dokebi with gigantic toy hammers, water guns, and vacuum cleaners, evoking the familiar in a new and exciting way that’s vividly colorful and entertaining to watch. What stands out the most in the game’s trailer is perhaps the game’s colorful combat. ![]()
